Pay for Performance Politicians
I remember hearing once “there is no greater honor than public service”. In America we are facing huge deficits, fire / Emergency and police services are finding smaller and smaller budgets while politicians as low as city managers take home large salaries and huge bonuses. Police and fire / medical workers have pay cuts and reductions for putting their lives on the line while a city manager can make $135,000 per year and also expect a $20,000 bonus for little service or budget balancing. How does this happen? City workers get pay cuts and police are laid off and city manager gets 6 figure salaries AND a five figure bonus? City workers are lucky to get a frozen turkey for a bonus, and City, County, or State jobs are the best most stable job you can have. This goes back to American Greed and anti capitalism. It used to be a company worked hard to produce products for growing markets and made income for workers and stockholders. Now everything is based on trading markets and debt and credit and not industry. Politicians are tools of corporations and make it illegal and impossible to have any industrial growth so outsourcing jobs and foreign slave labor is the standard economic model.
I say we have PAY for PERFORMANCE. Any elected official must have a clearly outlined agenda and set of goals that if unmet mean no pay. American workers are paid DOE (depends on Experience) or pay for performance why not our elected officials? Elected officials should be paid by performance more than anyone. We could assign each and every day of their office with a credit or percent of their salary. Senator O. shows up for 65% of the time he gets a 65% salary. An elected official wastes or over spends or fails to find a balanced budget, they loose a percentage. If they take a vacation they loose days of pay. I think public office is only an honor if you do honorable things and the first and utmost honorable thing one can do is keep their word and do what they say they will do for citizens and not big business that fund their campaigns. We have politicians taking salaries for taking bribes and getting money for not doing the honorable thing and Americans accept this as part of the wonderful democratic process that never gets anything done but give politicians bigger salaries for not doing their jobs.
I don’t know where the current administration gets their information or figures from but nothing ever adds up. Unemployment is at record low but we have more unemployed and less jobs. “We have 100,000 news jobs” on any given Monday but by Friday we find out we lost 300,000 so did we make significant forward progress? No we did not. How many times did Obama say the recession was over? At least 40, every week or two the markets were up and lending was strong and interest was low and growth was starting new jobs were there… Is any of it true? Not here in Fl. And from the word I get from around the country and world, same thing no jobs and LOW pay for experienced skilled workers. In fact I see more closed doors and boarded up buildings, more foreclosed homes. We have seen news reports constantly that “the housing market” is returning.. Are you serious? The housing crisis with banks was the cause of our collapse. Housing and construction were the ONLY industry this country had left so it bubbled from speculators and banks making projections of growth based on housing alone. No industry, no products for the world market only homes. Homes don’t get more valuable because they are in the middle of more urban sprawl they gain value because they are close to industry and trade hubs. You either need to make products or move products. “Market” money will continue to dissolve and disappear in imploding markets without industry to make products for the GLOBAL market. At the end of WWII we were a nation making up 65% of the world population and producing 95% of the world’s goods. And they were HIGH quality goods. Not poisonous drywall and lead based paint on children’s toys and toxic chemicals in food.
We need to have more control of government officials and we need to be able to yank them out of office by the neck if they do not perform as promised. We need to have the right to veto, and terminate any official who steps outside the lines of office.
Most of all we need to have industry again. It means jobs, positive cash flow, better jobs, a growing and expanding market and a future in a global economy.
Obama encourages people to “invest”. Invest in what? The markets that crash and dive every other week? The markets based on lending or oil? The destroyed housing market? Markets with no products? There is nothing to invest in. Most people who had any money to invest already lost it in the last crash. There is no money left for Americans to invest. We need what little we have for food (with 25 to 40% inflation) and $5.00 per gallon gas. Any smart investor already knows the “markets” are volatile and unstable and a poor choice. If you want a market to invest in you need to go with the one with the best most usable products for the global market. Seems tear gas cartridges are made by a Pa. company and Halliburton makes everything else in America’s global war market. Invest in bombs and bullets that is our strongest market.
Just got word the nuclear plant in Omaha is flooding. Hmmm I guess our next war in Africa is still more important than any nuclear disaster in Omaha. We have $10B per week to spend on every new war and nothing for Americans facing a nuclear disaster.
The water has been coming at the plant for a week and still nothing from Obama. Not even a bulldozer and dirt for a poorly and hastily constructed levy system.

American jobs, outsourced slavery, and our safety infrastructure in the USA. My two cents worth.
First I would like to say I’m not a conspiracy nut or Obama critic and I was excited at the chance for a new president with “CHANGE” in mind along with our infrastructure rebuilding, new industry with the “high paying” new jobs to “power this nation into a new era”. (Please correct me if that is a misquote of Obama in one of his campaign speeches) I had as much hope as anyone that this could actually happen. I feel naïve and foolish now for thinking that might actually happen.
Instead we have anything but infrastructure improvement, industry, jobs, or any plan to EVER have any. Instead we have a new war in Africa every week with a new terrorist organization or some “humanitarian” need for American military action with laser guided bomb technology and infrastructure to fight every civil war on the continent. Michelle Obama just got back from South Africa on a publicity / photo shoot with Nelson Mandela so she can come back and make speeches about freedom and how great democracy is. I remember another speech she made where she claimed Kenya was Barach Obamas “country of origin”. I remember the same statement being made by Mr. Barach Obama saying the exact same thing “ I was born in Kenya”.. We now have a total of three birth records or, what appear to be some sort of documents, with conflicting evidence about this.
We have not one single dime being spent on the welfare of Americans only for Africans. We have spent probably close to $100M on Libya alone in 100 or so days. With Omar K. only now being made a “strategic target” … maybe.. We still have no clear objective without Khadaffi as a target do we? This is, or was a “Civil” war against the “Khadaffi regime” but he was not a target even though he has supported and funded terrorist activities that killed at least hundreds of people. So why did we get involved with no plan to remove or target him to start with? We let his “indiscretions” go for decades. Again the Obama logic shines through = do something, anything even if it is wrong and worry about the mess later.
Well now we have a need here at home. We have wild fires in half our nation endangering nuclear facilities along with floods and no plan to build any fire fighting equipment. We have ONE (1) single DC10 set up for fire fighting in the country of 300M. We still have no equipment to skim oil or clean up the BP disaster mess. Obama released BP from any further liability before anything was cleaned or there was even an assessment of the total damage. When will Obama turn his attention to the needs here in North America?
We need our streets, sewers, power plants, nuclear facilities, all upgraded. We need a new San Francisco bridge so we are having one made in China? Are you serious? We haven’t even cleaned up the mess from the Chinese drywall that is basically poison. Obama has not one single plan to create any type of industry or jobs here at home when the need has never been greater. What is he waiting for? Why do we not see more (or any) solar power projects or industry in Florida? Why do we not see any bio energy projects? Florida could be self reliant with free energy just from methane production within a year reducing carbon dioxide by millions of tons. Carbon credits anyone?? We could have bio algae plants solar powered. Instead we see commercials for “Cleaner Coal”. Coal still produces millions of tons of toxic coal ash we have no way to dispose of. We need to go further and deeper for enough coal endangering lives to make more pollution. We are now FRAC drilling in the Allegany water shed in New York where millions of people get their drinking water. It pays good money for anyone who will work to pump tons of poisons into the ground to squeeze out a little more natural gas.
Everything is the exact opposite of the way Obama described in his campaign. We have a dollar devalued by the $3T spent by Obama to bail out big business and banks with no redistribution of the assets of these bankrupt mismanaged companies (and banks).
Who in their right minds gives money to a company for paying themselves huge salaries and bankrupting the stock holders? Why would anyone with any sense at all do this? We are talking about the nations economy. This goes against every law of business and economics ever made and is the total opposite of capitalism. It is absolutely the most ignorant business and / or most corrupt move any leader ever made in the history of time. Increase the debt limit? Obama has no limits yet just blank checks he keeps handing out. How about giving me a few million Obama, hell I’ll say you were born wherever you want just like everyone else on your payroll.
…Speaking of corrupt big business frauds.
Here in Florida we now have Governor Rick Scott. Who is CEO of Columbia Hospital. He was indicted twice for federal Medicare fraud. First time he simply paid back the money as they didn’t catch it all so he simply wrote a $20B check and gave himself a $20M bonus. This made Columbia Hospital stock worthless. So Columbia hospital employees who got stock instead of raises lost everything including their retirement and pensions. FACT= Rick Scott was indicted just days before he was nominated to run for Governor of Florida. (Who would nominate a fraud like this?) We have heard not one word about the second indictment. One can only suspect that he did the same thing again and bought the Office of Governor of Florida with the new bonus money. Also note Rick Scott turned away elderly patients who did not have insurance for him to over bill. The Medicare fraud alone should constitute abuse of the elderly as well as federal fraud. Rick Scotts response is simply “it’s not me but the companies policy”.
And American Democracy is great? All we have to vote or choose from are posers and prom queens like Palin and Obama or frauds like Rick Scott or Rod Blagojevich who have no interest in America unless it puts money in their pockets.
I try to remain strong and think ahead of the Obama learning curve so I notice things and still want things to be positive. I try to find something to do with no paying work in sight. I figure I can help write a book(s) for the Obama Presidential Library that will have to be built. “The Obama To-Do Encyclopedia” section will be H U G E !!!
Will the Obama Presidential Library be built in Kenya or Hawaii? Manufactured in China?
